KBB Co., Ltd. announced that it has independently developed technology to improve the yield and active compound content in the Wild-simulated Ginseng extraction process, and that two out of three related patents were officially registered with the Korean Intellectual Property Office in the first half of 2025.

According to a company representative, “The patents registered include ▲a Wild-simulated Ginseng extraction method and ▲a perforation device for Wild-simulated Ginseng and an extraction method using the same. Another patent currently under registration is ▲a fermentation method of Wild-simulated Ginseng using fermentation materials.”

The company explained that these technologies aim to enhance the extraction efficiency of active compounds in Wild-simulated Ginseng extraction and improve absorption in the human body, thereby maximizing its consumption effectiveness.

The representative added, “Based on these patented technologies, the company is differentiating its products from conventional concentrates while advancing extraction and fermentation processes to develop health foods that consumers can trust and safely consume.”

KBB further strengthened its technological credibility and business foundation by signing three non-exclusive licenses for government employee invention patents related to Wild-simulated Ginseng with national research institutions in August 2024. In August 2025, the company renewed one existing license and secured two additional licenses.

The technologies licensed in 2025 include:

- an anti-inflammatory composition containing Wild-simulated Ginseng extract,

- a muscle strength improvement composition containing Wild-simulated Ginseng extract, and

- an immune-enhancing composition containing Wild-simulated Ginseng and wild pear extract or its fractions

The representative concluded, “KBB plans to first apply these technologies to its Wild-simulated Ginseng brand ‘Jigiwon’ and will continue to focus on research and development to enhance the quality and functionality of Wild-simulated Ginseng extraction-based products.”
